The Orange County (Calif.) Register staffer Jonathan Lansner breaks down the region's surging construction numbers.
It’s been four years since the area has had a down year, according to the latest figures. Lansner writes:
The value of construction starts in Los Angeles and Orange counties in the first 10 months of the year totaled $10.1 billion, up $530 million or 6% compared to 2014, according to Dodge Data & Analytics.
Leading the upswing are residential projects—single-family homes and multifamily housing —with construction-start values up 8% this year to $5.7 billion.
