Miami-based Lennar Corporation closed on a 36-acre parcel from BBX Capital Corp. and CC Devco on Dec. 18 for approximately $26 million, according to county records and reported by Nina Lincoff, a reporter at the South Florida Business Journal.

The purchase is just one part of a master development for the Bonterra Community, of which Bonterra Single Family Real Estate LLC is the selling party, that is located in Hialeah, Fla., not far from Miami.

Lennar plans to build approximately 463 single-family homes, villas and townhomes on the parcel, according to an announcement from BBX. Including Lennar's parcel, the master-planned Bonterra community will cover approximately 128 acres of land with 1,171 planned single-family homes, villas, town homes and apartments as well as parks and a lake.

Earlier this month, Lennar also acquired more than 450 homes and buildable home sites in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York from Orleans Homes.
