One of the nation’s largest home builders got a little bigger Wednesday as the Miami-based Lennar Corporation acquired more than 450 homes and buildable home sites from Orleans Homes, reports Philadelphia Inquirer staffer Jacob Adelman.

The properties are situated within communities of single-family residences and townhouses in Concord, Yardley and Blue Bell, Penn.; Medford, Moorestown and Jackson, N.J.; and Wallkill, N.Y.

“In purchasing these assets, we acquired a number of well-located communities that will immediately establish Lennar in the Pennsylvania marketplace while expanding our presence throughout the region,” said Don Bompensa, President of Lennar’s New Jersey Division, which will oversee the new properties.  “Our intent is to complete the existing communities and deliver an exceptional consumer experience to homebuyers in these markets."

Pennsylvania-based Orleans Homes also sold its Charlotte, Raleigh, and Chicago operations and home building assets for $166 million to Taylor Morrison Home Corp. earlier this year.
