A 171-acre development in Frisco, Texas was recently rezoned to accommodate the construction of retail and a variety of homes, reports Candace Carlisle of the Dallas Business Journal. That means that home developer John Landon is closer to building on acreage formerly part of Brinkmann Ranch, which he acquired last year.
Plans for the residential community include place-making and community design features, such as wide patio home lots, a minimum of 10% of net acreage devoted to open space (including 3.7 acres for a neighborhood park), and ornamental fencing throughout the new neighborhood, Carlisle reports.
"There's a lot of excitement over retail development in Frisco with a growing number of rooftops in the city," Rex Glendenning, owner of Frisco-based REX Real Estate and longtime land broker in the community, told the Dallas Business Journal. "The demand for retail follows rooftops and I think this will be a successful grocer-anchored retail center."
