Now here's a poll a home builder can like. No political claptrap here. Just what readers think of the product. The San Diego Union-Tribune reports:

The votes are in. In June, we asked our readers to pick the top home builders in the annual SD Best Union-Tribune Readers Poll. And the winner is KirE Builders Inc., which has been named “Best New Home Builder.”

KirE landed atop the list of 10 finalists in the poll, which is now in its 20th year and gives San Diegans the opportunity to vote for their favorite businesses in the county.

The Poway-based company has two communities now selling in San Diego County: town homes at Nickel Creek in Ramona and single-family homes at Circa De Loma in Fallbrook. The recently opened community of Nickel Creek offers floor plans ranging from 1,044 to 1,559 square feet, with homes priced from $309,990.

The runners up in the Best New Home Builder category who made it into the top five list are Pardee Homes, KB Home, the Corky McMillin Companies, and Shea Homes.
