Cities are gaining an edge that have affordability as well as jobs.

Bottom line, in 2016 and the near future, the faster-growth opportunity in residential real estate investment is in cities that balance good jobs and good housing affordability.

That's not an easy balance to strike, and investors will face some risk as they try to pick which metro areas are moving more in that direction and which are moving away.
