Millennials have already surpassed Generation X to make up the largest share of the current American workforce. With Millennials being more tech-savvy, highly educated, and racially diverse than other generations your business will have to specially prepare for them.
The Business Journals' Kim Jenson takes a look at what the millennial consumer prefers across multiple categories including housing:
"First, lower income growth and higher unemployment supports the demand for more affordable living solutions, such as apartment rentals. Second, higher levels of student debt are making it more difficult to save for a down payment and qualify for a mortgage. Finally, as millennials stay in school longer and delay marriage, home buying will be delayed."
