In PulteGroup’s acquisition of about 7,000 new homes and home lots owned by John Wieland Homes in January, Triangle Business Journal staffer Amanda Hoyle reports that 700 of the lots and land parcels were purchased in Wake County, North Carolina, at a value of more than $34.9 million, according to a review of county deed records.

Atlanta-based John Wieland Homes has been actively building in five neighborhood communities in Wake County, including two neighborhoods at Traditions at Wake Forest, another in Holding Village in Wake Forest, Woodcreek in Holly Springs, River Run in Raleigh and another at South Grove in Chapel Hill.

PulteGroup expects to recoup the capital invested in the John Wieland Homes acquisition within less than 48 months. The John Wieland Homes acquisition also included new residential neighborhood developments in Charlotte, Nashville, Charleston and Atlanta.
