Sacramento Business Journal's Ben Van Der Meer reports that home builder Katherine Bardis confirmed last week that she is involved in a project that will add 480 acres to the southwest corner of Elk Grove, Calif.

Sacramento County’s Local Agency Formation Commission executive officer Peter Brundage said the organization has received a sphere-of-influence application for that property.

“Currently, no specific future land uses have been determined for the 480 acres,” she said, although she noted the developed part of the city surrounding it is mostly residential. “I am excited to be part of this process and think both these properties, and the city of Elk Grove, could benefit from this becoming a future growth area.”
