Houston-based developer Land Tejas announced that builders Westin Homes and Gehan Homes have begun selling homes in two gated sections of its Lago Mar community in Texas City, Texas, reports Houston Chronicle staffer Katheine Feser.
Model homes are expected to open in November and are priced from the mid $200,000s.
The 2,033-acre community, west of Interstate 45 and south of Holland Road, is planned for 4,400 homes. Plans call for Dickinson Independent School District to build elementary and middle schools in the community. Commercial developments in Lago Mar include Tanger Outlets, which opened in 2012, and a 60,000-square-foot Buc-ee's convenience store and gas station, which opened in 2013.
