In Arizona there's a measure on the ballot, called Proposition 205, to legalize marijuana. But the Phoenix Business Journal's Mike Sunnucks reports that the building industry is lining up against the measure.
The "latest business owners to the Prop. 205 no campaign include: Fulton Homes Corp. which gave $25,000, Taylor Morrison Homes Inc. which gave $15,000 and the Arizona Chapter of the Associated General Contractors which gave $10,000."
The reasons for their opposition are fairly simple.
Voters will decide Prop. 205’s fate on Nov. 8. Business and real estate interests are opposing the measure worrying about increased drug use, workplace injuries and failed drug tests.
