Dallas Morning News editor Steve Brown reports that Ross J. Perot Jr.'s Hillwood Properties has commissioned architecture firm Gensler to put together a development plan for Westlake's Circle T Ranch. Hillwood purchased the lush, 2,000-acre property from oilman Nelson Bunker Hunt 20 years ago, and has since proposed a variety of developments including a shopping mall.
Current plans show a corporate office campus containing over 1 million square feet of space occupied by 750 apartments, a 200-room hotel, and 80,000 square feet of retail and entertainment space. The complex's mix of high- and low-rise buildings will be constructed around small lakes.
Architect Corgan Associates – which designed State Farm Insurance’s new corporate campus at CityLine – is also working on the project, filings with Westlake show. The planned development would be another major project for Hillwood, which owns the huge AllianceTexas development north of Fort Worth and started Victory Park in downtown Dallas.
