Hillwood snags 400-acre North Texas tract for 1,250 new homes.

Dallas Business Journal staffer Candace Carlisle reports on a successful land-acquisition play by Ross Perot Jr.'s Hillwood Communities, a 400-acre tract planned for 1,250 homes, ranging in the $300,000 to $500,000 price-spectrum.

Carlisle notes that the the North Texas market is red-hot right now and that Hillwood's buy resulted from the company's high regard and reputation in the market. At sell-out, the community's total value will exceed half a billion dollars. Carlisle writes that Hillwood will break ground on infrastructure development in January, and open for sale in early 2017:

The 1,250 homes are expected to be priced from $300,000 to $500,000 a residence, with an expected build-out cost of $500 million.

The master-planned community will also include resort-style amenities, multiple community parks, miles of trails and retail and restaurant space. Prosper ISD is the school district for the acreage.
