The Washington Business Journal's Andy Medici takes a look at a new survey by the Urban Land Institute which shows that over 60% of millennials plan to stay inside the Beltway over the next three years.
The survey also reveals that 70% of millennials in the area say they are highly satisfied with their location and only 14% planned to move out of the area. Of all their reasons for liking the area, employment was the greatest:
Nearly half, or 47 percent, said they originally moved to D.C. for a job or to follow a spouse’s job, according to the survey. About 22 percent were born here or came here with their parents, while 20 percent came for school and then stayed, according to the survey.
