MarketWatch's Sally French reports on GoPro's sneak peek of its latest model, as the firm released footage from it's new prototype drone, or the quadcopter this Wednesday.
The footage took viewers above, around, and through a forest. Also the footage appeared to be smooth and on par with rival competitor DJI, maker of the Phantom 3 drone model, and Yuneec, maker of the Typhoon. This release comes during a challenging period for GoPro:
GoPro shares took a big hit Wednesday, tumbling 15% in after-hours trade following a big earnings and sales miss. The company reported net income of $18.8 million, or 13 cents a share, compared with $14.6 million, or 10 cents, in the year-earlier period. Shares of GoPro have fallen more than 50% over the last three months, vastly underperforming the S&P 500, which is virtually flat.
