Nevada, Massachusetts, California, and Maine all voted to legalize recreational marijuana use yesterday in ballot measures.

Builders are already struggling with a limited labor pool that's driving up housing prices across the U.S. Part of what's causing that constriction is the lack of prime working-age men who are currently off the job market, which a recent survey found 40% of which are on pain killers, prescribed or otherwise.

Taylor Morrison and Fulton Homes both funded anti-marijuana efforts in the southwest, expressing concerns of the drug's effect on the labor pool.

Arizona also had a ballot measure to legalize marijuana, but it was rejected by a 52.1% vote. Medical marijuana use passed in Florida, Arkansas, Montana, and North Dakota.
