Despite a long wait for construction, the area south of Highway 50 in Folsom, CA already has thousands of homes planned for development. The city planners have approved maps for about 1,600 subdivisions for the area. The New Home Company has been doing engineering and development on what will be a tract for as many as 800 homes.
Ben van de Meer, Sacramento Business Journal, takes a look at the development which is just beginning to get infrastructure work. Public Works Director David Miller says that the amount of homes planned is not a surprise as they have a great market before explaining just how far out construction is:
“When the weather improves, you’re going to see tons of equipment there,” Miller said. As infrastructure extends first into the plan area and then specific subdivisions, developers currently getting lots entitled will start selling to builders, who will get busy in summer 2017, he said.
