Construction on at least one neighborhood in the Bannon Lakes master planned community in St. Johns County, Fla. should start soon, reports Jacksonville Business Journal staffer Derek Gilliam.
A spokeswoman for AV Homes said the company will be building a neighborhood with 51 lots called the Grove at Bannon Lakes. She said that neighborhood will have a model home delivered in early 2017.
In Sept. 2015, the development rights were finalized for Bannon Lakes to include 105,000 square feet of retail space and 15,000 square feet of office space in addition to the 999 residential units on the property's 580 acres.
The overall development could eventually have 849 single-family units and an additional 150 multifamily units. Additional builders are involved in the project.
