Sentier Research's tracking of household incomes show growth.

New Strategist Press editorial director Cheryl Russell reports that that median household income in December of 2015 reached $57,153, which is 0.7% higher than the November median, and 4.3% higher than the median in December of 2014, according to Sentier Research.

The median household income in August of 2011 was $51,859— the lowest point in Sentier's household income series. December 2015's median topped that number by 10.2%.

"There has been a general upward trend in median household income since the post-recession low point reached in August 2011," reports Sentier. Its median household income estimates are derived from the Census Bureau's monthly Current Population Survey.
