The Davis Planning Commission will meet this week following the unveiling of commercial development plans by developers for the Cannery project. The development will be on 15 acres along Covell Boulevard.

Ben van der Meer, Sacrament Business Journal, reports on developer The New Home Cos. plans to use this meeting to get the commission familiar with the design concepts. Northern California Division President for The New Home Co. Kevin Carson said the area will feature a western side with more light industrial/office space development and an eastern side with more neighborhood-foused retail:

In total, the project calls for 171,000 square feet of commercial development, spread over 22 buildings. Those buildings would be one or two stories, and both sides are arranged in a sideways horseshoe shape, with parking in the middle.

For more information on the design of this future development, check out the Sacramento Business Journal.
