The “Low Country” model home, designed by Jeffrey Dungan and constructed by Clayton Building Group.

Clayton Building Group, a division of Clayton Homes, has constructed the first of five tiny home models designed in partnership with Birmingham, Alabama-based architect Jeffrey Dungan and his firm. The 396-square-foot Low Country model home was factory-built in Alabama and recently showcased at the Cashiers Designer Showcase in North Carolina.

Dungan hoped to bring the elegance and sophistication of his firm's work into a tiny place. "I wanted the quality of the Faberge egg with details and wonderful materials," he said. "Because you are doing something small you can afford to work with better materials."

Clayton is currently taking pre-orders for the Low Country home, which will start at $96,000, as well as the other four tiny home models in Dungan’s Designer series. The company has two more series of tiny homes in progress – an “entry-level” series in the $40,000s and a “Lakeside” series in the $60,000s.
