Dezeen's Anna Winston reports that the 2016 edition of Time magazine's 100 most influential people includes architect Bjarke Ingels, who is the founder BIG—the firm behind the Via 57 West apartment building in Manhattan, as well as one of the companies working on the new Google campus in California.
Esteemed fellow starchitect, OMA founder, and Ingels' former employer Rem Koolhaas penned the text published aside his Time magazine listing.
"I do not consider Bjarke Ingels the reincarnation of this or that architect from the past," said Koolhaas. "On the contrary, he is the embodiment of a fully fledged new typology, which responds perfectly to the current zeitgeist. He threw out the ballast and soared."
