UpNest recently revealed its list of the most affordable housing markets in America where buyers can get the most bang for their buck. And Baltimore emerged as the most budget-friendly area, according to the rankings, which were based on data from a variety of sources, including Realtytrac and HousingWire. 

... Baltimore City itself is also one of the best areas for buyers qualifying for down payment assistance. The median home price there is a low, low $62,000, with an average down payment benefit of nearly $6,000. What’s more, Baltimore is within commuting distance (40 miles) of the DC metro, which offers numerous high-paid government and professional jobs.

Other affordable housing markets in the country included Orlando, Fla., with a median home price of $142,200, Youngstown, Ohio with rock-bottom rates of $31,400, Detroit, St. Louis, and Tulsa, Okla. with a median value of $104,500.
