A sketch of the proposed layout for Rea Homes, a master-planned community under development in Charlotte.

CalAtlantic Homes is slated to develop at least 250 single-family houses and two- and three-story town homes in Rea Farms, a Lincoln Harris master-planned development in Charlotte, SC. Construction on the properties is set to begin in late 2017 or early 2018.

Though the company doesn’t yet have a breakdown for the number of townhouses and single-family homes it will develop at Rea Farms, CalAtlantic's Charlotte Division President Bob Bennett says having a variety of home models for buyers to choose from is an instrumental strategy for the community.

“Our strategy as a company is finding A+ locations,” Bennett said. “With this community being master-planned, it can serve several different buyer profiles.”

Rea Farms will be located on 194 acres at Providence and Ardrey Kell roads. The community is also set to include extensive office and retail space, 500 multifamily units, a fitness center, a day-care center and a magnet school.
