According to ATTOM, neighborhoods with even one good elementary school are more valuable over time than neighboring areas.

Trulia has recently released a list of the ten U.S. school districts that have seen the greatest improvement from 2011 to 2015. At the top of the list is the NYC Geographic District, which has risen from rank 160 (out of 181) to 82. The highest rated school on the list is the Culpeper Country Public School district in the District of Columbia, at rank 14.

It’s no secret that good school districts can improve home prices, and are highly valued by many home buyers. Millennials especially put a good school district as a high priority, just behind low crime and short commutes, according to a new report from Trulia.

New data released by ATTOM Data Solutions, the new parent company of RealtyTrac, in their 2016 Schools and Housing Report shows that neighborhoods with even one good elementary school have higher home values and price appreciation over time. In some areas, such as in California, the price difference in highly-rated school districts is large enough to price out potential buyers.
