In July, Taylor Morrison bought Orleans Homes ChicagoRaleigh and Charlotte divisions. Now it's adding the Bensalem, Pa.–based builder's CEO to its ranks.

Alan Laing, who has been focused on selling off Orleans' holdings,  will be reunited with a number of former colleagues, including CEO Sheryl Palmer, at Taylor Morrison. Laing will report to Palmer and oversee three area presidents as well as the home building operations infrastructure for Taylor Morrison.

"Alan is a tremendous resource and asset to Taylor Morrison. His consummate professionalism and sound home building business acumen are perfectly suited for this elevated role in the Taylor Morrison family," said Palmer.

She adds: "As Taylor Morrison continues to grow and the industry is faced with a constrained labor infrastructure, operational efficiencies are critical to sustained success. Alan brings a wealth of experience in operations management, having served in executive roles at other top home builders and running his own consulting firm focused on operations and home cost management for more than seven years. I'm confident Alan's strategic thinking, leadership and ability to successfully accomplish long and short-term goals will have an invaluable impact on Taylor Morrison."
