NorthPointe Group’s Aberlin Springs “agrihood” community is still in the very early stages of development, with only the first 22 of its planned 139 homes set to open in its first phase in 2017. But the Union Township, Ohio community already has 60 people on its position list, and $1,000 refundable checks from each prospective home buyer.

Aberlin Springs, which will feature an on-site working farm as its central amenity, held its last open house on Sunday. NorthPointe Group will soon begin the process of meeting with prospective buyers and moving them towards down payments and specific lots.

“Typically in this pioneering stage, people sit back and wait and see. You show someone the plan, the pricing, the lot, you show them everything and then they decide. But this, it just resonated with them,” she said.

The community’s homes will be priced at three levels – ‘cottage’ homes, in the $300,000s, ‘manor’ homes, in the $400,000s, and ‘estate’ homes, in the $500,000s.
