After almost a century of dedicated car production, Ford stamping plant Dagenham Factory is being retired into residential life. Europa Capital and St. Congar Land bought the facility after it sat silent for 3 years. Their plan: turn land of the rusty, musty, dusty building into the new location of 2,650 homes. With 42-acres, the investors definitely have room to grow. “The shortage of housing stock in London can only be realistically addressed by developing eastwards,” they said. They point out the convenience of an adjacent railway station by the site, which would allow home owners to get into London’s main hub in under 20 minutes.
