Builder Holigan Investments used one of the largest vacant properties near Bush Turnpike in Garland, Texas to develop Woodlands on Spring Creek.
The development will have different homes, apartments, small restaurants, and wooded areas and water will divide the land. The Carrollton-based Cross Development and Titus Capital will also be building a 150 unit senior housing community. The city is making sure the developments will have a spot in the community.
“It’s really the hole in the doughnut for development in this area,” Michael Holigan, founder of Holigan Investments, said. “By the summer, we hope to have all our plans approved and will be ready to start.”
“Garland is definitely a place to look at for mixed-use development,” said David Gwin, Garland’s economic development director. “These inner-ring suburbs are going to become part of that equation.”
