McCar Homes has appointed Steve Roberts as the new CEO of the Atlanta-based company. The former CFO replaces Keith McSwain, who recently stepped down to spend more time with his family. McCar Homes was No. 39 in the BUILDER 100 2006 rankings.
"I look forward to leading McCar Homes as we continue to position ourselves among the top homebuilders in the Southeast and the nation," said Roberts in a released statement. "McCar Homes has earned a reputation as one of the best run companies in the industry. Throughout this transition, the executive team will diligently work to ensure that the vision and success of McCar Homes remains secure for the future."
The company also announced that McSwain will remain in an advisory role to the McCar Homes Chairman of the Board.
McCar Homes, founded in 1956, builds homes across the Southeast including Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Florida. The company had 2,265 closings in 2006 and gross revenues of $628 million.
