For the second time, Habitat for Humanity has enlisted the help of professional builders to complete a national Home Builders Blitz. This week, more than 1,000 building industry professionals will build 263 houses with 110 Habitat affiliates across the U.S.
Builders, subcontractors, and tradespeople will complete houses from frame to finish to support Habitat's home building efforts. BUILDER and Habitat have teamed up to report the build's progress on a daily basis. During the week, six of those professionals will contribute to Habitat's online Builder's Notebook, providing a first-hand perspective of the work being done on their site. Plus, Kevin Campbell, Habitat's director of the builder blitz, will be posting reports as he travels across the country visiting various sites. You can access those posts every day through www.builderonline.com.
The build began over the weekend, and the first entries are up now, detailing the preparation that went into planning Home Builders Blitz 2008. Check here every day this week for new entries that describe the work being done.
