Taylor Morrison's North Florida division has begun a marketing program aimed at renters that could result in up to $18,400 in savings on a new home.

The company is renters a $100 per month credit on rent up to 24 months, or $2,400. The credit is available to "anyone renting, period," said Kristin Vuckovic, marketing manager for Taylor Morrison North Florida. "They will need to provide a copy of their lease agreement."

In addition to the rent rebate offer, Taylor Morrison is offering to match the federal government $8,000 first-time home buyer tax credit, which would bring total savings up to $18,400.

"If you have been renting, then you have been saving with our new Renter Rewards program," said Tim Stapleton, division president for Taylor Morrison North Florida. "This is a great incentive for many renters who have been debating whether or not this is the right time to purchase a new home."

In the North Florida division, that savings can mean more than 10% of the price of a new home. In Orlando, Taylor Morrison offers five new-home communities, starting from the $140,000s. These include Clayton Crossing in Oviedo; Carriage Pointe in Winter Garden; Lake Mary Landings in Lake Mary; Saddlebrook in DeLand; and Terracina at Lake Forest in Lake Forest.
