At the other end of the spectrum, Detroit hangs on to the title of worst place to start a career, though it’s actually Moreno, California, that claims the worst overall rank for professional opportunities and Hialeah, Florida, that earns the worst overall rank for quality of life. Fresno, California, also lands in the bottom five, as does Akron, Ohio.
