San Francisco Bay–area builder Affordable Housing Associates recently opened University Neighborhood, a rental project that the company claims has the first inclusive, affordable, and universally designed residential units in the nation. The universally designed residential units include such things as wide doorways, extra floor space for wide-turning wheelchairs, and roll-in showers.
