* Percentage of Market Share Captured By The Top 10 Builders In Each Market In 2007

** The top 10 builders in the market have more then 100 percent market share, but how is that possible? Hanley Wood Market Intelligence, which collects Local Leaders data for BUILDER, measures each market by building permits pulled over the previous 12 months, and the builders within each market by how many closings they have from the previous year. So builders in this market are selling and closing more units of inventory than they are pulling building permits for new units they plan to build. The slowdown in permits pulled across the country is another symptom of the downturn, as builders slow their production schedules.
