The Boca Raton city council met on Monday to discuss the viability of the home development bids on the Boca Municipal Golf Course. There are five offers for the city property, submitted by Kenco Communities, Lennar Homes, Toll Brothers, CC Residential, and Compson Associates.
Lennar Homes’s offer attracted the most attention from the council, according to The Real Deal writer Mike Seemuth, because of its added land-swap deal. If Lennar’s development bid is accepted, they would convey Ocean Breeze Golf Course, a foreclosed private course Lennar now owns, to the city. The offer does not include a purchase price or appraisal for Ocean Breeze, and the value of the property is unclear.
The council has asked Boca Raton city manager Lief Ahnell to determine the regulatory viability of the five plans.
