More homes in Williamson County, Tenn. are being purchased as second homes by owners who live there part time, reports Bill Lewis for The Tennessean.
Realtors in the area say the trend is very apparent in master-planned communities like Berry Farms and Westhaven and in downtown Franklin, Tenn. according to Lewis.
Jeffrey Caruth, affiliate broker and Realtor for Regent Homes, estimates that one in four condos sold by Regent Homes in Berry Farms is used as a part-time residence. The company initially built 21 condos and is completing an additional 27, of which 21 have already been purchased. The newest condos are priced from $239,900 to $299,900.
“People come from all over the U.S. for the business opportunities Nashville creates. Or they can visit the grandkids and have a place of their own,” he said.
