Redfin recently announced the launch of Opportunity Score, a partnership with the White House Opportunity Project, which helps Americans find homes within a 30-minute car-free commute to nearby jobs. Redfin staffer Eric Scharnhorst explains how Opportunity Score works and who should be using this new feature.

Opportunity Score assigns addresses a rating from 0 to 100, which represent how easy it is to get to nearby jobs without a car as well as the amount of possible job competition based on local population. The best part about Opportunity Score is that it can be beneficial to all:

Opportunity Score can be used by anyone, from a person searching for a job and a home, to someone who already has a great job but wants to spend less time commuting, to a recent grad who’s choosing a new city to move to based on employment availability and housing affordability.
