Pulte Homes has acquired a 160-acre site in Palm Beach County, Fla. that was home to the Gulfstream Polo Club, the oldest polo club in Florida, reports Brian Bandell, senior reporter for the South Florida Business Journal.
Gulfstream Polo and several other groups sold the site for a reported $49 million, according to Atlantic Western Realty Corp., which said it represented the sellers.
The 160-acre site is part of a pending comprehensive plan amendment to build 973 homes on 224.9 acres. Atlantic Western said the additional land remains under contract to Pulte Homes.
It was a pleasure to represent the shareholders and property owners of Gulfstream in this challenging, long-term assignment,” Atlantic Western President Brad Scherer said. "We congratulate Pulte and their entire staff on the professional manner in which they completed what was both a very complicated assemblage and lengthy entitlement process.”
