In an urban area, a for-sale listing is likely to mention amenities, a suburban area the home itself, and in a rural area description of the areas natural features. Zillow staffer Chris Sipola takes a look at the site's study of the descriptors used for these three types of areas across the United States. The study found the descriptive words that were used more often in "urban," "suburban," and "rural" areas.
Here is the focus for surburban homes:
Suburban listings focus more on the attributes and features of the homes themselves, advertising features like two-story foyers, lanais, plantain shutters, pools, patios, tennis courts and game rooms. They also call out when the home sits in a cul-de-sac, an enduring symbol of suburbia mentioned 1.7 times more frequently in the suburbs than in other areas.
