South Florida Business Journal staffer Brian Bandell reports that Codina said he and Lennar hope to close on the White Course by the end of March. He declined to disclose the price, but said he would take one part of the property and Lennar would take another part.
Bandell notes that the White Course’s previous owner filed Chapter 11 during the recession over a group of hospitality properties across the country. He writes:
“We’re going to do something of a lower scale that will be complementary to Downtown Doral and we will not likely use all of the entitlement that the White Course now has,” Codina said.
The Coral Gables-based builder said the development would be mixed-use, although mostly residential.
