Two Lakes Lennar, an affiliate of the Miami-based home builder Lennar Corp., paid $41 million for a 130.3-acre residential development site in Hialeah, Fla., reports South Florida Business Journal reporter Brian Bandell.
The land is currently used for agriculture and has two lakes that total about 56 acres. It’s located outside of Miami, west of Interstate 75 on the north side of Northwest 154th Street stretching all the way to Northwest 97th Avenue. In 2009, Hialeah approved a developer agreement with the previous land owner that would allow up to 929 homes on the property with up to 34 acres of lake allowed to be filled.
This deal follows Lennar’s recent $74 million purchase of 142.7-acre acres on the east side of Interstate 75 at Northwest 154th Street from another Dunn company. That site was approved by Miami Lakes for 505 homes.
