Greenwood Village, Colo.-based Century Communities has expanded its operations in Central Texas with the acquisition of 142 lots within three San Antonio communities.

The home builder acquired 46 lots in the gated Two Creeks community, delivering homes in two different collections, and also acquired 35 lots in Willis Ranch, a gated community focused on green living in north San Antonio, offering four single-family home plans. Moreover, it has entered an infill location inside northwest San Antonio’s Loop 1604, acquiring land with plans to develop 61 homes in the Pomona Park neighborhood.

Century Communities, which builds single-family homes, townhomes, and flats in markets in Colorado, Texas, Nevada, Georgia, and Utah, expanded its operations to Salt Lake City last month and placed 21st on the 2016 BUILDER 100 with 2,401 closings in 2015.

“We have seen tremendous growth in the San Antonio market in the last five years, including leading companies choosing to move their headquarters to the area, and families wanting to purchase homes outside the city center, close to leading schools,” said Justin Cox, Century Communities’ vice president of operations in San Antonio and for Build On Your Lot. “These land acquisitions will help us offer new homes to San Antonio-area residents looking for high-quality homes built with impeccable service and in areas that offer tremendous amenities.”

According to Metrostudy, the San Antonio market saw closings jump 4.9% in March from a year earlier to 837. A total of 8,743 new homes were sold during the 12 months that ended in March, up from 8,704 for the year that ended in February. Home prices in March also rose 4.2% year-over-year to $284,408 after a 10.9% year-over-year increase in February.
