Bruce E. Toll, a founder of Toll Bros., and his company BET Investments wants to renovate a seven-story building in downtown Pittsburgh into apartments, according to Tim Schooley of the Pittsburgh Business Times.

BET Executive Vice President Brad Brown said the units will largely be a mix of studios and one-bedrooms of 300 square feet to 400 square feet in size. The project includes retail as well as a rooftop deck.

Schooley writes that BET is new to downtown Pittsburgh.

The potential development by BET brings another major new outsider into the downtown Pittsburgh development scene. The company owns more than 5 million square feet of real estate of all kinds throughout the country.

Toll retired from Toll Brothers in February of 2016.
