Orlando Business Journal's Rachel Williams takes a look at two new projects in the works in Southeast Orlando's growing community called Lake Nona.
Two new, planned roads will create access to 9.7 acres of land slated for the area's first age-restricted community. This week, Tavistock development Co. applied for an environmental resource permit from the South Florida Water Management District. Tavistock is also seeking a permit for The Gatherings of Lake Nona, According to documents, which will include 216 residential units, a pool, a 4,400-square-foot clubhouse, shuffleboard, standalone garages and a 218-space surface parking lot. Beazer Homes is to be the builder of the project, according to documents obtained by the OBJ.
Winter Park-based Donald W. McIntosh Associates Inc. is the project engineer/surveyor; Orlando-based Aecom Inc. is handling ecological services; Orlando-based Broad and Cassel is the legal counsel; and GAI Consultants Inc. is handling landscape, irrigation and hardscape, documents showed. These are the same companies involved in the development of The Gatherings of Lake Nona age-restricted community, as previously reported by Orlando Business Journal.
