KB Home announced its acquisition of 199 homes sites in Longmont, Colo. today as land development for the builder’s new Boulder County community is currently underway. A grand opening for the Reserves and the Estates at Somerset Meadows is planned to take place this winter.
Situated 15 miles northeast of Boulder in West Longmont, KB Home’s Somerset Meadows is located in a recognized center for technology and advanced manufacturing companies. From bio-pharmaceuticals and satellite imagery to disk drive design, technology and software-related jobs make up about 27 percent of the Longmont employment base. Additionally, Somerset Meadows will offer convenient access to all the Front Range has to offer, including the Rocky Mountain National Park, major universities, shopping and dining, as well as 1,500 acres of parks, natural open spaces and trails.
“We continue to be aggressive in strategically expanding our land positions in Denver and the surrounding region,’’ said Matt Mandino, president of KB Home’s Colorado division. “We’re very pleased to have secured this prime parcel in such a vibrant and highly desirable area.”
KB Home currently plans to offer one- and two-story home designs that range in size from 1,590 to 3,859 square feet and can accommodate up to six bedrooms, four-and-a-half baths, three-car garages and a basement. All KB homes at Somerset Meadows will be built to exacting ENERGY STAR® guidelines and include an array of water-conserving features such as WaterSense® labeled faucets and fixtures, making them among the most efficient new homes available today.
