The Ryland Group has promoted Larry Nicholson to president of the company's Southeast region. Nicholson has more than 23 years of experience in the home building industry, most recently serving as president of Ryland Homes' Orlando division.

Palo Alto, Calif.-based Summerhill Homes has appointed four people to the position of managing director: Joseph Head, of land acquisition and planning; vice president Reyad Katwan, of engineering; vice president and development manager Robert Hencken; and vice president and development manager Adam Tennant. Head, along with Elaine Breeze, a current managing director, have both been awarded the title of senior vice president.

Bruce Dickson has been promoted to the newly established position of president of Standard Pacific Corp.'s Southeast division. Dickson, who will continue in his role as president of the company's home building operations in Austin, Texas, will work with Standard Pacific president Mike Cortney to oversee the company's regional housing operations in Florida and the Carolinas. Standard Pacific has also promoted two Northern California executives. Glen Martin was named president of the East Bay division of Northern California and John Nicholson was named president of the Sacramento division. Under his previous title of division manager, Martin has implemented the company's growth strategy in the region, while Nicholson, also a division manager, was instrumental in establishing the Sacramento division.

Debra Still has been named president and CEO of Pulte Mortgage Corp. Previously Pulte Mortgage's COO, Still replaces Roger Pastore, who announced his plans to retire in the summer of 2005 and will continue to serve as an officer of Pulte Homes until then. Still joined Pulte Mortgage in 1983 and has since held the positions of senior vice president of process reengineering and senior vice president of operations.
