The first model home has just made its debut in Lago Mar. The home was built by Westin Homes, a Houston area builder.

Located in Texas City, Lago Mar has a total of 12 sales to date.

“The opening of Lago Mar’s first model home is a cause for celebration,” said Jennifer Keller, president and COO of Land Tejas in a press release. “It marks a major milestone in a community that is already a popular destination with the extensive Tanger Outlet Mall and retail complex.”

The home at 3002 Broadhaven Drive is Westin's 2,900-square-foot Albany plan. The design features four bedrooms, 3.5 baths, a study, a game room, a 42-inch fireplace in the family room and a media room.

Westin’s well-known architectural flourishes such as a tiered rotunda, coffered ceilings, and floor-to-ceiling bay windows are showcased, as are options such as 6-foot-8-inch rolling barn doors at the media room and the master bath. Custom Kent Moore cabinets in the kitchen and utility room and a freestanding tub in the master bath also are featured.

Westin offers four- and five-bedroom designs on 50- and 65-foot properties in Lago Mar. Pricing is from the $260,000s.

Homes in Lago Mar are priced from the mid $200,000s. The 2,033-acre community, located along Interstate 45, will be home to 4,400 families when complete
