Del Webb on Monday announced plans for Del Webb Nexton, its second community in the greater Charleston area. Located in Summerville, the active adult community will feature a 25,000-square-foot clubhouse, tennis and pickle ball courts, indoor pool, and outdoor resort-style pool.
The community will feature more than 1,000 homes on 350 acres, which will be acquired in multiple-phases over the next several years, centrally located in Nexton, an award-winning master planned community. The groundbreaking will take place later this year and a grand opening is slated for February 2018.
Del Webb Nexton is located just five miles from downtown Summerville and about 25 miles northwest of downtown Charleston. It will provide those seeking the Del Webb lifestyle an opportunity to live in a new community that incorporates the most innovative ideas in the active adult lifestyle and designed by internationally acclaimed planning firm Hart Howerton.
"There continues to be strong interest and demand for a Del Webb community in the greater Charleston area," said Charlie Tipton, Coastal Carolinas Division President. "We are excited to once again offer the famous Del Webb lifestyle here as a follow-up to our successful Cane Bay community, and we are particularly thrilled about being a part of the live, work, learn, and play environment Nexton has cultivated."
Launched as South Carolina's first gigabit community, Nexton's plan brings together offices, restaurants, shopping and homes. Nexton was recently named the Best Master Planned Community of the Year by the Charleston Home Builders Association.
