Construction is underway on the 439 single-family homes in the first phase of the $1 billion, 2,000-acre Gateway Parks master-planned community in Forney, Texas.
These homes, which will be priced from the mid-$200,000s, will be built by David Weekley Homes, Gehan Homes and Horizon Homes on 50- and 60-foot home lots. One-and two-story homes will be available, ranging in size from 1,800 to 3,500+ square feet. A 9,000 square-foot amenity center is also planned for the Gateway Parks community, which will include a clubhouse, three swimming pools, and an event lawn.
"We've brought in a slate of quality builders at an affordable price point that buyers want," said Alan Bain, vice president of real estate for Dallas-based developer Petro-Hunt LLC.The community is expected to bring its first homes online by early next year, and its model homes are currently under construction. 1,840 homes are planned altogether for the community, alongside 1,300 acres of commercial development and 40 acres of retail.
